Lundy airs sport TV funding mix

407616-kate-lundyAustralia are keen to promote lower profile sports at which they have had international success.

The Australian Sports Commission says a government funded sports televison channel could promote fringe sports like netball, rowing, surfing and hockey.

Federal Sports Minister Kate Lundy also believes the channel could be an opportunity to promote women’s sport in Australia via media.

Lundy says: ““There is no good reason for it, other than some sort of incomprehensible bias against women’s sport, given we know it rates well.”
